reflections on the trip
All of the canoe trip experiences, friendships, and laughs that evolve from just a week of camping are enough to last an entire year.
You will never stop talking about the trip. It will always come up in conversation as you reminisce with friends and family. It will always be hanging on your wall or stuck as photographs on your fridge. It will always be seen in the dreams of fiery sunsets and boats rocking on the waves. I am forever grateful for the lessons learned from the Voyageurs Canoe Trip:
In her poem entitled The Invitation, Oriah Mountain Dreamer writes, "I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.” I can only hope that everyone who goes on this trip feels the same longing for adventure that I have felt. Although I have now “graduated,” the canoe trip will always be a part of me. |
