Founded in 2018, G☺T LUNCH! Newport (GLN) helps fill the gap when school vacations leave children without nutritious meals at home.
Since June 2018, GLN has served 200 different families with 414 children. (December 2023) GLN is an all-volunteer program that delivers bagged groceries bi-weekly from mid-June to mid-September, and during the February, April, Thanksgiving and Christmas school breaks. We now serve students and their families in Goshen, Grantham, Lempster, Newport, Sunapee, and Unity.
Our rotating menu includes kid-friendly foods for the entire family: breakfast cereal, frozen meats, sandwich ingredients, vegetables, fruits, bread and dairy products, canned goods, pasta and sauce, rice, etc. Each weekly delivery also includes recipes for using the ingredients. Emergency boxes are available when families face crises outside of our regular delivery schedule. Contact us to register for deliveries or serve as a GLN volunteer. |
