About the musicians...
Charlotte Perkins (violin) is known in Scotland for heartfelt, joyful performances with the Haver Quartet (www.haverquartet.com) and Nevis Ensemble, both groups committed to making live music accessible to all. She is proud to have played with these ensembles in schools, care homes, prisons, hospitals, and every sort of public space imaginable.
Charlotte is a Masters student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, but she’s glad to call New London (NH) her hometown and claim the Upper Valley Music Center (Lebanon, NH) as her first music school. She also studied at Kinhaven Music School (Weston, VT) and New England Conservatory (Boston, MA). Her primary violin teachers have been Alicia Casey, Timothy Kantor, and Hector Scott. Charlotte can also be found conducting, gigging all over Scotland, and singing alto lines in various choirs with gusto. |
Alexander Stewart (piano) is the music director at Newport High School, and the music director and organist at South Congregational Church. He conducts three choirs, two bands, and one bell choir. He plays on a fully restored 1921 three-manual Estey pipe organ. Recent engagements include the 70th season of the Newport-based Area Choir, the 75th annual Lyme Congregational Church Christmas pageant, and Kearsarge Regional High School's performance of 42nd Street.
Alex is also the head coach of Newport High School's cross country running team and a director of the Choral Arts Foundation of the Upper Valley. He sings bass with the New Hampshire Troubadours and is a gardener and an amateur woodworker. He is a piano student of Ms. Carleen Graff, an organ student of Mrs. Beverly Caldon, and is grateful to call Newport (NH) home. |
