Charen Urban, Program Coordinator. Charen is a member of South Congregational Church, a retired Newport teacher, and a trustee of Richards Free Library. She provides leadership for Got Lunch Newport, and is responsible for food procurement and for grants and appeals. Charen coordinates orders with the grocery store partners, plans menus, creates Food Suggestions and helps launch delivery routes. Charen is an authorized NH Food Bank shopper.
Karen Little, Database Manager. Karen Little is a lifelong member of South Congregational Church. She is the church's Financial Secretary and sings in the choir. She is on the Executive Board of the Area Choir and a former member of the Newport School Board. Karen manages financial records, product inventory, and delivery and reporting databases. She places orders and goes to the NH Food Bank weekly. Karen is an authorized NH Food Bank shopper. Stephanie Gilson, Volunteer Coordinator. Stephanie is a retired Newport teacher, member of South Church and has been part of the packing crew since early in the pandemic. She maintains a record of volunteer paperwork and activities and communicates regularly with volunteers as deliveries and events are planned. Stephanie is an authorized NH Food Bank shopper. Stacey Hammerlind, Family Liaison. Stacey a founder and lead guide of Micah Studios, an independent learning center in Newport. She enrolls families in Got Lunch Newport and communicates with families, checking-in if concerns are identified. Rachel Page, mother, volunteer and participant in Got Lunch Newport. She and her daughter, Jay Page (youth member) organize and pack fruits, vegetables, and grocery bags each week. Rachel and Jay are our “inside voices” for program recipients and trusted advocates for families in need. Katrina McCurley, member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Katrina joined the volunteer staff of Got Lunch in 2020 at the start of the COVID pandemic and the Advisory Board in 2022. Katrina steps in as lead packer whenever needed. Cindy Clifford. Cindy is a long time member and current Moderator of South Church. Cindy is a retired nurse who worked at Valley Regional Hospital. Cindy delivers to participants and fills other roles as needed. Andrea Thorpe. Andrea is the retired Library Director of Richards Free Library. She has been part of the packing crew since Got Lunch began in 2018 and is now part of the “Got Lunch Sunday” prep crew. Andrea is an authorized NH Food Bank shopper. Rev. Daniel Adam, ex officio. Daniel is entering his 4th year as pastor at South Church and is an integral part of the volunteer staff, helping to launch routes, procure food, and deliver to families as needed. He chairs the Newport Area Association of Churches, which oversees the Newport Food Pantry. |
